For UK study permit, applicants need a minimum IELTS score of 4.0 or higher for all skills.
For Canadian study permit, applicants need a minimum IELTS score of 5.5 in all skills and an overall score of at least 6.0

Student Direct Stream (SDS) is a Canadian government initiative for international students from a select group of countries (including Pakistan & India). It is an expedited process designed to determine applicant’s eligibility and arrive at a decision within 20 working days.

International students applying to Canada must prove that they have paid the first year’s tuition fee in full. They must also submit a $10,000 GIC along with the visa application.
For UK, students need to show that they have enough money to support themselves on top of the tuition fee. How much money is needed depends on where they will be studying. They need either:
£1,334 per month (for up to 9 months) for courses in London
£1,023 per month (for up to 9 months) for courses outside London

Majority of scholarships are available for local students. However, there are some grants and bursaries for international students as well. Please visit relevant school websites for further details.
It is important to understand why the application was rejected by the visa officer in the first place. New application must address those concerns to increase the chances of success. Please share the refusal letter with Burlington consultants to help us prepare a more convincing application for you.

Students over the age of 30 are most likely to be refused a study permit unless a strong case is made. Visa officers are stricter when they see an older student who has already had a history of post-secondary education or an established career. So the applicant really need to provide a good reason for why they are deciding to go back to school and how it will improve their career back home if they are changing career paths then they really need to explain why or else their purpose of study will not be seen as genuine.

Canadian federal law allows international student to work up to a maximum of 20hrs a week to earn additional income. But this limit was recently set aside due to a shortage in labor market and international students can now work full-time along with their studies.
For UK, the 20hrs per week rule is still in effect.
